A Michigan organization is trying to get a bottle return deposit on water bottles due to an increase in Americans use of drinking bottled water. In return, a Michigan representative is trying to get a law on the books to make recycling simpler. In 1976, Michigan passed a law to place a bottle deposit on pop and beer. The deposit is .10 per bottle here and has helped decrease the waste around the state with regard to cans and bottles. Now, the Michign Environmental Council is lobbying to get a bottle deposit on plastic bottles. I like the idea and I’m not a tree hugger. The biggest problem is that stores need to then handle the responsibility of recycling the materials, which can be problematic for smaller stores. Rep. Geoff Hansen is countering the idea with a bill in the legislature that would levy a one-cent surcharge on the sale of consumable goods

There is something for everyone, football for the guys, sappy romantic/relationship stuff for the girls. But most important, take your kids to see this movie. I laughed, I cried…The movie starts off with the coach facing all sorts of troubles from the car dying in the middle of the front yard to a stench in the house. After his job is in jeopardy he decides to pray about it. After a night of studying what the bible has to say, it changes his life and those around him.Without giving too much away, the catch phrase is …with God all things are possible. Since we need more family movies in the theaters, go see this movie, you won’t regret it.

The second day brought more adventure. After getting a cup of Starbucks, I made my way to Boston Common and sat to enjoy my morning java and the scenary. After about a half hour, I took some photos and then headed for the Freedom Trail again. This time I found a free downloadable audio tour, which was great (and highly recommended)! After listening to the audio covering the things I saw yesterday, I headed on to the many sites along the trail, stopping at Quincy Market. After looking around the market for about an hour and grabbing some lunch. I headed to the North Marina and viewed the harbor and sat and listened to the ocean. It is just amazing!!Then back to the hotel for refeshing air conditioning and needed rest. Then off to Fenway Park for the Boston Red Sox game. The friendly ticket man sold me the seat for $50, which was brought down from $100. It was sweet at Fenway, to think that Yaz played there, Ted Williams once swung the bat at that very park. My seat was just behind the Angels dugout in General Admission. The Sox procedded to lose the game 10-4 and Schilling saw his first loss. After walking back to the hotel, I had logged almost 15 miles today!! It was time for some Buffalo wings at the sports bar alnong with a nice cold Sam Adams.I hit the sack about 12:30.

Arrived early due to bump up on the airplane flight, thanks to NWA!!Got into the hotel just fine and had an awesome burger for lunch. Then took a little break to unpack and then off to Boston Common where I walked around the park, it was a truly beauftiful afternoon! I then began the freedom trail walk with the MA State House and the Park St Church. Then off to the Granary, where Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and Paul Revere are buried to this day! What an amazing thing to see! To think that these men died and are buried here.I continued on the Freedm Trail and headed to the King’s Chapel and Burying Ground where the oldest known Puritans are buried. The temp hit 90 degrees, with a heat index of 92.So much more to see, but there are more days to come, thank goodness.
